Belief and yearning for the coming of the Mashiach (literally, “the anointed one,” the Messiah) is one of the fundamental principles of Judaism. When the concept of the Mashiach is appreciated, history is no longer viewed as a random series of events, but rather a planned destiny leading to a utopian goal. When will the Mashiach arrive? What will the world be like immediately prior to the arrival of Mashiach? Are we already experiencing those times? What will the world be like after Mashiach arrives? How will it be different from the world we know?
