Is it really that bad?

It is so easy to lose perspective on the main things in life. We often get caught up in our own busy lives and forget what is really important. In early July I discovered a new change that was happening in our very backyards. Many would call it  a tragedy that would alter their lives in a real way. Others blew it off. Nonetheless, it was an opportunity for reflection given the proximity of this change in our lives which occurred during the “three weeks” leading up to the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av. Coincidence? How many of us responded to it was also crying over spilled milk (pun intended). Of course, the rockets started launching from Gaza once again not too long after this all went down. When we lose track of what is important we are often met with unfortunate and real tragedy to remind us what is most precious and important in life.
