One day, a shorter older brother decided that he wanted to be taller than his younger brother. So he grabbed a shovel and dug a deep hole and placed his taller younger brother inside the hole. When their father arrived, he said to the older brother, “If you wanted to be taller than your brother, why didn’t you build a mound to stand on?”

Often times we jump to conclusions, pass judgement, and even speak negatively about others without stopping to ask, “where do these negative feelings come from?” All too often, it is our own insecurities that cause us to wrongfully damage others reputations or even physical possessions. This phenomena occurs on organizational levels, interpersonal relationships, and sadly enough, in the home as well.
