Rhonda Kallman, From Craft Beer to Craft Whiskey

We had the opportunity to visit with Rhonda Kallman, founder of Boston Harbor Distillery, and taste her new Putnam Rye Whiskey. She gave us an in depth and behind the scenes tour of her civil war era building which housed a rich heritage of innovation and now has been skillfully converted into an innovation center for beverages of all types. We are especially fond of the Putnam Rye Whiskey which has an especially smooth and sweet but spicy taste.

We interviewed Rhonda after the tour and heard her fascinating account of her role in cofounding Samuel Adams Brewery with Jim Koch back in 1984. Together they made a great team and grew the company to about $100 million in revenues before Rhonda eventually stepped down to pursue other interests. Rhonda shared some thoughts on the key to success when it comes to sales giving anyone involved in start ups food for thought on what it takes to drive towards the finish line.

We look forward to visiting with Rhonda at jpulse events in the near future and celebrating happy occasions together.
